Crib Mattress Dangers! Did you ever witness someone having a severe allergic reaction to something? I have and it’s frightening.
When a baby is born, we don’t know what that baby is allergic to ‘cause it was just born right? So why would the most important item one can buy for an infant’s nursery – a crib mattress, be filled with latex. A severely allergic rubber, so allergic that schools and most hospitals don’t allow latex balloons inside their walls any longer. But yet, completely legal to stuff a helpless infant’s mattress with it. Crazy!
Infants sleep up to 17 hours a day. Their mattress is key to their immediate and future health, mentally and physically. Manufacturers will tell you “hey the latex doesn’t touch their skin, it’s under the mattress cover.” Ok. I ask you, would you be good with sleeping on a mattress filled with 1000 tiny spiders? I mean they’re under the cover right? You’d be good with that? Exactly. Get a certified organic, non toxic cotton mattress, no latex. Only safe and kind things for a baby. Choose wisely. When a baby is born, we don’t know what they are allergic to.
