Dimare Design: To stay centered, what is one personal activity you do religiously daily or weekly?

Erica Korman (EK): Ever since I began meditating I cannot go a day without it, no matter where I am or how busy I am it is always my priority.

What are the sources of happiness in your home? What is your favorite room or nook?

EK: My bedroom has a little alcove where I do my meditation or just relax on the chaise lounge, it is quiet and peaceful, overlooking the ocean.

What are simple ways we can foster happiness in our lives?

EK: I think it is so important to be grateful for the simple things that you have and recognizing how truly blessed you are.  Meditation, gratitude, and connecting with nature all foster happiness in our lives.

What is the one thing you cannot live without?

EK: Healthy, fresh food.  Ever since my journey to personal health and wellness began, my body has a strong aversion to unhealthy foods that are not fresh. I love nourishing my body with the best quality foods.

What decorates your walls?

EK: Pretty and simple artwork that is calming. I like simple and clean as it calms my mind.

What is your greatest memory from your childhood home?

EK: I loved our backyard, it seemed to be so huge, as I was so little.  I often think about how I would get “lost” out there and be so present and in the moment.  It brings a smile to my face.

Where do you get away for peace in Miami?

EK: The Beach!  My favorite spot!

Where is a gem in Miami?

EK: “Choices” vegetarian/vegan cafe … I love the Standard Hotel, their Hamam room where they have a sauna, steam room, baths, etc is pure heaven!

What is your favorite activity in Miami?

EK: Hiking, swimming, running on the beach!

What would people be surprised to find out about you?

EK: I conducted a therapy session with a ventriloquist’s “puppet” on TLC’s “Strange Addiction”.
